1987

1987 – October 3-4
Location:    Spaceland – League City, TX
Plane – Otter

134 people registered – 9 teams, Jumpers were still allowed to jump on more than one team – Limit two.

The meet was growing, and we got help from lots of friends who volunteered for all kinds of tasks involved with the meet, before and during.  I get a lot of credit, but I was just a good delegator.  Everyone knew that any gimps were automatically assigned duties at the meet.

Three rounds were planned, and this was the first year that piece flying was introduced into the competition.  The dives were unknown until the captains meeting the night before the competition started.   The dives were harder, but the teams averaged more points than the first year.  Texas Star was still the first point of Round 1.

Had aircraft issues and cut the meet short.

We also raffled a slot on a WSCR load to raise money to send the Texas A&M Skydiving Team to the Collegiate meet.
